Vientiane - the capitol of Laos, on the Mekong river.

Pha That Luang - Most important monument in Laos.

Vang Vieng. Several hours north of Vientiane by bus. Small touristy town, surrounded by 'Karst' formation limestone mountains.

UXO - Unexploded ordnance. Leftover from the American bombing and common in some parts of Laos. Here used as bridge pylons.

Vang Vieng had the best bicycles that I was able to find in Asia. I rented this one several times.

All of the limestone mountains have extensive caves. Some have been partially explored and have trails to the entrances. There is usually a small entrance fee and lights are available to rent.
